AUG 2008 -FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL

8/26 First day of school

It’s my first day of 5th grade. Lots of friend in my class and my teacher is GREAT! I know it will be a good year.

8/25 First workout with Coach Dante Harlan

I worked out for the first time with Dante Harlan the head coach of Mount Notre Dame High School. Wow he worked me hard for an hour and a half. He is hard but he makes you want to do it right. When I get it right he always says great job or now that’s money. He is fun to work out with and he said we’ll do it every Monday and Wednesday.

8/22-23 Jim Clayton Sport City University Basketball Academy

Thank you Coach Fishman for letting me attend both the morning and afternoon sessions with Coach Clayton. I learned so much and my dad has promised Coach Jim Clayton that we will visit his Sport City University Basketball Academy in West Virginia when we visit my great grandma in Clay, WV. Coach Clayton said this basketball season he will visit our gym at TLC Academy and work with me.

8/11 Shooting 72% on the GUN

A few days ago I was shooting on the Shoot-a-way GUN in my gym and shoot 50 shoots and I made 36 and only missed 14!!! My dad said that I made 72% that is more than most pros!!!

JUL 2008 - SHOOT 4 THE STARS CAMP

Shoot 4 The Stars Camp 7/28 – 8/1

It was called Basketball Bootcamp for the last 2 years but this year it got a new name. It was actually the first camp I ever attended when I was 7. Coach Paul McMillan is great with all the kids, even the high schoolers. I missed seeing AL Chang this year! I met Coach Carlton Gray my first year at camp and he has been a big part of my life ever since. He has taught me so much and I hope he will be proud as I get better.

This years camp was so much fun… I got to work out with the 7th – 12th grade girls. Some of these girls a amazing! I learned so much as they trusted me bring up the ball and playing point guard for them. I wish I could play with them everyday, it was so much fun. Jasmine is so tall and good, Aly is like lighting, Shanna is great and so was everybody else!

       At camp this year I met someone I didn’t think I would like. His team had beat the team I was rooting for to win state championship… I wanted Amber Gray to win a ring so bad… I love Amber so much, she is the greatest basketball player I’ve ever met!

Well after meeting Dante Harlan at camp, I really liked him. He knows a lot about basketball and he is really a nice guy. He said he will come over to my court and see if I like working with him. I can’t wait… A lot of the girls at MND I already like. My sister Alysha goes to school there.

JULY 2008 - BLUE CHIP CAMP

Blue Chip Camp 7/17 – 7/20

The coaches were all fun and knew a lot about basketball. Thank you Coach Marco for helping get into this camp… I was too young but I held my own against the older girls. Coach Underwood treated like I was he grand daughter and was so nice to my parents. Coach Patty Jo Hedges was great and let me take a picture in her Houston Comets trunks from when she was in the WNBA. 

All the coaches made all the hard work fun. I got to meet Fran Harris also from the Houston Comets and she let me try on her 2 WNBA Championship rings and her NCAA Championship ring. She told me someday if I work hard that I will have my own!

The Point Guard was really good and I learned a lot.

JUN 2008 - XAVIER LADIES BASKETBALL CAMP

Xavier Ladies Basketball Camp 6/30 – 7/1

Coach McGuff was so nice to me and so were all the other coaches.  I love coach carla morrow.  She is one of the nicest people that I ever met.  She is also an amazing Baller.  Her stats at tulsa are ridiculous!!!  

Leah from Finest was at camp with me. I love her, she is a giant compared to me, but we teamed up in a shooting contest and did amazing! She said I’m the funniest little kid she’s ever known. I would love to be a point guard on a team with a target like her to pass to, she’s great! Again, I was actually too young to attend, but I learned a lot and they all said they were shocked by my dribbling and ball handling. Thank you Coach Fishman, Coach Gray, Coach Pirtle and my dad for working with me so much! One of the assist coaches gave my dad his business card and said, “please keep in contact with me, we definately want to keep an eye on your daughter as she gets older”. My dad keeps telling me that hard work always pays off. Thank you to all the coaches and players and hope to see you all soon on my homecourt at TLC Academy. 

One more thing, SPECIAL you are my girl!

JUN 2008 - LAKOTA WEST BASKETBALL CAMP

Lakota West Basketball Camp 6/23 – 6/27

Coach Fishman, Coach Gray, Coach Pirtle and all the other coaches and LW players THANK YOU!!! Thank you for moving me up with the older grades. My dad told me to even worked extra hard every day to prove that they made the right decision in letting me play with the older girls.

I was so excited because it was Coach Carlton Gray’s birthday so me and my mom and dad got him a cake and embarrassed him by having EVERYBODY in camp signing to him… and Coach Fishman even rapped for us and Rylee was soooo embarrassed… IT WAS SO FUNNY!

Rylee Fishman was my team captain and I was so excited, she is amazing and I love her! The final day of camp my parents didn’t want me to play because I was sick with a high fever. I begged them to at least take me to camp to see the skills challenge games and rout my team to win as “5 on 5” champs. Well we got there and I told Rylee about not being allowed to play and she talked mom and dad into just letting me do a couple drill challenges. I ended up winning the layup contest with against all the girls and they were all 1 to 3 years older than me. I didn’t miss a single layout, one right-handed then touch the free-throw line, then left-handed. I made 8 in like 30 seconds… and I was really sick… Thank you Rylee for making me do it! I was then allowed to play in the camp championship game and guess what WE WON!!! I won 2 nice trophies and I was sick!

After camp was over I had another championship games in the Deveroes Basketball League in just 2 hours. I went and tried to eat but wasn’t very hungry still and when back to the gym. I ended up playing in the game and did pretty good and we WON… That was my third trophy in about 3 hours. I learned it pays to never give up!

JUN 2008 - PAT SUMMITT BASKETBALL CAMP

Pat Summitt’s Basketball Camp 6/15 – 6/18

I got to meet Pat Summitt! She was amazing… I was the youngest girl in camp and was awarded “Best Offensive Player”, when they found out I trained with Amber Gray’s dad Carlton they said; “that’s why you nailed all are drills”… THANK YOU Coach Gray!

I was shocked that I made the All Star Team and was a little nervous about playing in-front of about 2,500 people. After the game started I was fine, I the starting point guard for my team and was the only girl that didn't get a rest! I got to play the whole game and got a lot of assists and even scored 8 points. I wish Carlton could have seen me! I loved all my coaches and Coach Marco from Louisville wants me to attend a Blue Chip Camp by his home, he said I’m too young but he will talk to them.
