KIND WORDS FROM VINCE RUSH, TOP SPORTS PHOTOGRAPHER
Cincinnati Sports-Photography with Celina King and 3 others

Congrats to Celina King. I first photographed her when she was 12, and a starting point guard for a small private high school in Dayton. That year she nailed 73 3 pointers. By her 1st year of OHSAA participation, as a 9th grader, she had scored 1000 points. Celina was the most mature young woman I had met at her age and has a spirit that captivates you the first time you meet her. She has been being recruited since she was 12. The framed letters you see behind her are from schools such as Oregon, Tennessee, UConn, Duke, etc.
A writer from ESPN Hoopz magazine, Mark Lewis, told me that there were maybe only a dozen girls like her in the country
This week among all the choices that lay on the floor surrounding her, she selected Hope College in Michigan, a D-III school. Her final choices included Yale, New Mexico State and a few others. Here are HER reasons...all the RIGHT ones:
What I was looking for in a college:
1) Teammates to be focused on earning an education.
2) A proven track record of players being successful in the “real world” after basketball.
3) Allowing me to pursue my major, Kinesiology.
4) A coaching staff that places educational goals first.
5) A Christian Liberal Arts College.
6) Smaller enrollment/class sizes.
7) A beautiful campus that I would be proud to say is my home.
8) To play for a winning basketball program, in an excellent basketball arena, with a nice fan base, where I knew the coach would be there for my 4 years.
9) Play for a coach with similar beliefs to the ones I share with my parents.
10) Involved in giving back to the community.

Celina -
Congratulations on your commitment. I salute you for making a decision based upon the things that are truly important to you in life. I believe that you will be rewarded for such a decision. I know there were "bigger" schools that may have been calling, however your decision is unique in this day.
I know that you will be an outstanding player for Hope and I wish you all the best in the future. Please keep us updated with your progression this year & in the future. It is always nice to receive good news from players.
Sincerely -
Jonathan
