My favorite time of year… Getting ready for Spring Summer Basketball

Celina King March 22, 2014

It’s been great doing conditioning with the team and then coming home to work out on my own for a couple more hours on individual skills work and shooting with Carlton Gray. I just want to play! I can’t stand the thought that I have to sit-out because of OHSAA transfer rules! But I can still practice with the team and I always play the role of the best players on whatever team we are playing next. The fun part is, they have to stop me from driving and shooting. I’ve been digging in and working hard on my game after practice getting ready for spring/summer ball. Every chance I get I’ve been playing pickup games with my boyfriend’s friends/teammates from St. Xavier High School. It’s a lot more fun playing against guys! They play so much faster and they make you work so hard to get opened for a shot… they actually play defense! My dad always says how much he hates watching regular girl's high school basketball, because it’s so slow and the level of play is so poor. Spring/Summer ball is so different, the competition is so much better and you are actually forced to earn everything. I know he’s right because so many high school starters and “stars” can’t even make any of the decent club teams.

So happy that Princeton High School along with Kelsey & Chelsea Mitchell finally won state!!!!!!!!!!
