1,000 Varsity High School Points – CHCA vs. Cincinnati Christian

Celina King January 26, 2013

I had no idea that I was that close! I was surprised when I hit a shot and everybody started cheering and holding up 1,000 point signs. The Cincinnati Christian coaches were so nice… they called a timeout and handed me the game ball to keep! Talk about a First Class Coaches! THANK YOU SO MUCH to everybody that showed up to the game and celebrated with us at Marion’s Pizza! It was a neat experience. Later I was told that I was now the youngest player in Ohio to reach 1,000 Varsity High School Points…

We had a good season, but Marissa Koob our most aggressive defender/scorer was injured and had to sit out a quarter of the season. So I had the pleasure of being face guarded, doubled and when I drove sometimes triple teamed. It was great experience and I ended the season with a team high average of over 15 a game and playing every minute of every game. Thank you Coach Southerland and my teammates... Coach won’t be returning next year because he wants to spend more time with his family… I’m not surprised, he is a great guy and dedicated dad! Again thank you to Coach Southerland and Coach Dinkelacker!!!!
